Comcast Parent Involvement Matters Award
Frederick County Public Schools is very fortunate to have many parents who are actively engaged in making a difference in the lives of our students. The Comcast Parent Involvement Matters Award, developed in partnership with Maryland State Department of Education, honors parents/guardians whose exemplary contributions to public education have led to improvements for Maryland's public school children, teachers, schools, programs and/or policies.
Complete eligibility, criteria, process information and nomination guidelines are available here: marylandpublicschools.org/MSDE/audiences/parents/pima.htm
One parent from each of Maryland's 24 public school districts will be selected as semi-finalist. Comcast will host an awards celebration in spring 2012 to recognize all semifinalists, annouce five finalists, and announce the state winner. Last year, the Maryland State winner was Shawna Caposoto from Frederick County! Congratulations, Shawna!
