Reflections

Greetings everyone!  PTA Council of Frederick County is once again proud to sponsor the Reflections program.  This year's theme is:  Diversity Means......

Council deadline to receive all entries is November 18, 2011.

Julie Marker, 1st Vice President of PTA Council of Frederick County, will serve as Reflections chair for Frederick County.  Information, forms, etc. will be available on this website very soon.  By now, all schools should have received a purple covered Reflections guide from Maryland PTA (should have arrived in a small white box full of other materials).   If you haven't seen it, please check with your President.  If your President doesn't have it, please let Julie know.  Continue to monitor this page for more information!  In the meantime, if you have questions, please contact Julie at vp1@frederickpta.org.

Reflections news (updated 5/24/11):

Congratulations to Matthew Dohm from Urbana High School and Bridgette Wheeler from Urbana Elementary.  Matthew and Bridgette both received the "Award of Excellence" from National PTA.  Only 12 entries in each arts category received this honor.  We are so lucky to have TWO students in Frederick County place that high at the national level.  Congratulations to both of you!

Theme for the 2010 Reflections contest - Together We Can!

All entries are due to Council by December 9, 2010.  The drop off location is North Frederick Elementary (1001 Motter Avenue, Frederick).  You may drop entries any time during school hours OR between 6:30pm-8:30pm that evening.  If this date is not convenient for you, please let me know and we can make arrangements to meet AHEAD of time (not after the 9th - it must be before).

A few other tips, tricks, and notes as you get started:

*Council is accepting four (4) entries per age division, per arts category (the state is accepting 3 but we want more kids to get a chance to move to the next level)

*HINT:  Before photocopying the "Student Entry Form" on page 40 of the Local Chair Guide, complete the bottom portion (asking for chair name, address, PTA Local Unit ID number, etc.).  It's easier to fill this form out once and then copy, rather than have to put the information on each form that you collect!

*Make sure all of your forms are in INK

*All local units should have received a copy of this (via your President), but in case you did not:  Maryland PTA Reflections Guide.

*Two very important forms that you will need to fill out (electronically):  Local Form C and Local Participation Form.  I will be asking each Reflections Chair to get these to me PRIOR to the December 9th turn in date.  I will let you know that deadline as soon as it is determined.

I will constantly be updating this page so please check back for new information.  If you have any questions, please contact Julie Marker at vp1@frederickpta.org or 301-663-1936.
